While providing China-specific solutions, BCG is a distinctively international consulting firm in its team, experience and management. BCG has partnered with SWOT Consulting of Finland to optimize local knowledge and skills to meet the demands of its international client base.
SWOT Consulting was established in 1998, and aims to help its technology industry customers grow their business with innovative business models. The new partnership will enable BCG to assist SWOT Consulting¡¯s clients in the China market and will enable SWOT Consulting to assist BCG¡¯s clients in the Scandinavian region.

BCG employs a team of research analysts who focus on conducting regular due diligence work, helping check the reputation of companies and their management teams ahead of mergers and acquisitions by overseas investors. The team recently leveraged their network of industry contacts and knowledge base to help a client gain deeper insight into the management team of a Chinese Airline, and identify any ¡®red flag¡¯ issues. Research was conducted across all lines of the airline¡¯s business, including corporate charter flights, tourist charter flights, medical rescue flights and helicopter services.

BCG has been engaged by a top-tier Western university to provide strategic advice and guidance on its China programs, in addition to assisting in managing its online media and promotion plans in China. BCG also facilitated several high level delegation visits to China by acting as key liaison between the university and its China partners. The project was conducted over a one year period.

Advocating social investment and philanthropy in China
BCG worked with Swinburne University¡¯s Asia Pacific Center for Social Investment and Philanthropy (APCSIP) to conduct a workshop in Oct 2010 which brought together some 60+ leading thinkers, researchers, foundation managers, NGOs, media, government regulators and practitioners. The workshop provided an important first step for a number of Australian and international experts to meet and share their experiences with their Chinese counterparts. The workshop was held in the Australian Pavilion at Shanghai World Expo and was co-hosted by the Australia China Council and the Australia China Alumni Association.

BCG has been engaged by an international retailer to manage its China-wide mystery shopper program and provide quality control reporting across its numerous stores throughout 8 provinces. BCG successfully signs pilot leasing agreements with Air China (Aviation) on behalf of clients
The Beijing Consulting Group has assisted a leading aviation recruitment firm to enter the China market, and successfully signed pilot leasing agreements with a number of Chinese airlines, including Air China and Air China Cargo. As a result of the agreements, foreign pilots will be leased to Chinese airlines, mainly to fly international routes. This will allow the pilots to remain living abroad, and travel to China to carry our specific flying duties.

Children¡¯s Safety / Market Research

Michell sets up 30 million USD plant in China.
With the Beijing Consulting Group's assistance, Michell Pty Ltd, the world's largest wool carbonizer will open their first processing facility in China in Wujiang, Jiangsu province, an hour's drive from Shanghai in April 2007. The total investment is expected to be approx. 30 million USD. BCG played a key role in helping Michell set up this WOFE, including providing advice on the plant's location, gaining environmental approvals, negotiating the land and utility contracts, etc.

Irrigation WOFE set up in Beijing.
Beijing Consulting Group has assisted Hydro-plan, the largest Australian irrigation design firm to establish a Wholly Owned Foreign Enterprise in Beijing. Hydro-plan will be providing environmentally friendly, cost effective design and advice on irrigation systems for Golf courses, large scale real estate projects and agricultural projects in China. The WOFE commenced operations at the end of 2006.
